Why did we build SuperQuest?
At J&Co, we’ve been creating engaging digital content for our clients for 20 years now. Small campaigns, extensive learning experiences, and everything in between. Tests, contests, quizzes, games. I wonder just how many quizzes or fortune wheels we’ve built over all these years?
The smallest and quickest projects are often completely static and custom-built, while larger initiatives feature content management access—either internally or for the client as well. The user interfaces have been built on whatever framework fit the project best. We’ve even brought in full-fledged game engines for the most demanding builds.
It’s been awesome to bring these projects to life, and we’re grateful for every opportunity—even the ones that didn’t go quite as well as we’d hoped. Still, so many great ideas have been left on the table, never built. The reason? Time and money. Or rather, the lack thereof.
Every project has a fun, creative side, and then a less fun, less creative side. The end result has to work seamlessly across different devices and environments. Once you’ve finally charmed the user into participating and sharing their valuable information (usually contact details), you have to make sure it actually arrives and gets saved properly. And the more complex and custom an application is, the more likely something is to go wrong at some point.
Vision of creative freedom
Our own platform, SuperQuest, was born from a single question: How could we create rich digital content faster, without sacrificing quality? The platform is a collection of games we’ve built over and over again through the years, paired with a vision for how things can be built flexibly, yet sustainably.
The core idea is a concept many of us know from childhood: Lego bricks. We provide compatible pieces and a foundation where you can place them in a way that makes sense. It includes familiar basic bricks, but also Technic Legos. Some of us absolutely love those—wonder who that might be?
Superintelligence
Of course, AI adds its own special spice to the mix. It would be absurd to ignore all the potential that modern language models bring to the table. You’re probably asking yourself: Why do we need a platform like this when I can use AI to build the same games in an instant? However, we believe it’s crucial to maintain control and present even complex setups in a human-readable format. That’s why it’s useful not to redesign the Lego bricks from scratch for every single build.
Imagine building with Legos alongside AI. You can decide for yourself how much each of you contributes, but the final result remains familiar to both.
I hope you’ll share the joy of creation with us through SuperQuest. We’ll keep building new bricks while making sure the playroom stays safe and doesn’t catch fire.
